Maricopa, Ariz. — Maricopa Unified School District Superintendent Tracey Lopeman has been appointed to the board of directors for Education Forward Arizona, a statewide education advocacy organization.
Lopeman is entering her ninth year leading MUSD, where the district has expanded career and technical education, opened Desert Sunrise High School and launched Arizona’s first K-8 work-based learning model at Alma Farrell Innovation Academy.
Lopeman, a longtime Arizona educator, previously served in the Alhambra Elementary School District as a teacher, principal and administrator before joining MUSD.
