Working in Maricopa may soon become a reality for more of the City’s residents.
All the details were laid out in a masterclass presentation by Maricopa’s Chief Economic Strategy Officer Rick Horst at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, you need to watch for yourself!
The city is on the verge of a monumental transformation, driven by growing interest in a massive plot of land on the south side of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. Make no mistake, this is no coincidence—it’s by design.
“The foundation has been laid, and now were going to start seeing the results”
City leaders have strategically purchased 680 acres to attract industrial opportunities that could generate thousands of high-paying jobs. That land is currently part of Proposition 482 on the July 30 ballot, authorizing the city to sell.
Tuesday night, the City’s newly formed Office of Economic Opportunity detailed the potential projects interested in the property, including one that could create 37,000 high-paying industrial and manufacturing jobs!
Other highlights from the presentation include:
- The addition of more than 400,000 sf of retail/commercial development over the last four years
- New interest from a trampoline park off Alterra Parkway and JWP
- Commercial tenants filling spaces around the new Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Aldi grocery store
- Growing interest from retail developers on the east side of Maricopa
Check out the presentation below and stayed tuned for more information as these projects develop.
